Welcome to ChuckCozza.com

In February 2006, our uncle Chuck Cozza, suffered a massive brain injury to his head while on the job acquiring parts for his garage door business.  No one really knows how the incident happened. Chuck has trouble communicating and no witnesses to the injury have come forward.

Chuck and his wife, Kim, had health and disability insurance which once seemed more than adequate for a healthy family.  However, after months in a coma, life-threatening complications, and slow recovery, the Cozzas are now facing enormous medical bills as their insurance policy funds have run out.

Kim is now making an appeal following the end of Chuck's disability insurance, which up until now paid for his rehabilitation care.  Meanwhile, the long-term disability checks are not adequate to cover her mortgage and other bills.  She is facing the loss of their home should he have to declare bankruptcy. The Cozza family built this home together by their own hands, as many of you know, after hours on their "day jobs," a remarkable feat in this day and age.

In response to their difficult situation, we have set up the Charles Cozza Fund, which is intended to help Kim and Chuck financially as they battle for his physical improvement on limited means. Ideally, Chuck should be cared for in an excellent facility such as Spaulding Rehabilitation Center, where he was admitted until he had a seizure.  We wonder if he will be able to receive the best care for his needs if the funds are not present.

The second reason for the fund is to give hope to Kim, Tony and Mike (Chuck and Kim's sons) as they go through this family crisis.  In the many months since Chuck's injury, they have devoted themselves to his constant care every day.  The existence of the Charles Cozza Fund will help them understand that their family is not alone in the battle.  We have a large, loving family and group of friends who are very concerned and committed to helping the Cozza's.  Together we can really make a difference in their lives by showing our love through our giving.
